The temptation in the desert is a significant scene where Jesus, who spent 40 days and 40 nights fasting and praying, was visited by the devil. He spent this time communing with The Father in preparation for the beginning of His ministry. A ministry that would change the course of humanity for eternity. Which is why when Jesus speaks to him with a heart of loyalty and love for God, He is reminding the devil who alone He is there to serve. These images of the Desert of Temptation remind and encourage us of the strength and loyalty Jesus portrayed for us on this mountain and call us into the decision to love and serve God alone, in every season of our lives. This is a message of strength, hope and light in the darkness.
